- The actual location of the beach club is now Annenburg Community Beach House at 415 Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica, although it has been remodeled beyond recognition since the fires.
- Actress Leah Remini got her start at 'The Sands' in Season Three.
- A seemingly human hand, completely painted red, can be seen most clearly in the sand during the volleyball championship game. It can be found at the edges of many of the outdoor shots.
- The filming location reportedly gave actress Tiffani Thiessen 'the creeps.'
- A satanic cult used the grounds for multiple ceremonies during the 1920's.
