Two early drafts of the script for this episode were written under alternate titles: The Third "D" Is Deception; and Beergate (taken from Watergate). The latter draft ended with Zack turning himself over to the police, at his father's insistence; the end credits played, sans music, over Zack's mugshot.
While credited, Tiffani Thiessen and Elizabeth Berkley don't appear in this episode.
