I believe Mr. Belding does appear in the reboot, but the other classic characters — Zack, Kelly, Screech, and Lisa — aren't part of the main cast. The new series is built around a fresh set of students and modern issues. You might catch a nod or reference to the originals here and there. The focus is very much on rebooting Bayside for today’s audience. It’s a bit bittersweet given the legacy of characters like Screech, but it seems the creators wanted to set the stage for a new era rather than try to rehash everything from the past.
